Mina Znaidi is a calligraphy artist who uses Arabic lettering as a basis for her drawings.
She is of Moroccan origin and had first learned to read and write at a quranic school at the age of four, using a wooden slate, a reed quill and ink.
The imam would trace the writing of quranic verses on the slate and Mina then used her quill to write over the tracing.
This is the inspiration behind her work.
She chooses not to write full words, but focuses on letters then shapes inspired by Moroccan colours and Arabesque shapes.
